If I Ruled the World – International Collegiate Barbershop Quartet Contest, July 2015
In July 2015, we headed off to the International Collegiate Barbershop Quartet Contest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Having worked harder than we ever had before, we went in as prepared as we could be. Knowing this would be our last collegiate contest as a foursome (with Chris aging out after this year), we took the day to ready ourselves one last time for this particular stage.
Interestingly, the singing order placed us directly between our good friends in Trocadero and ‘Shoptimus Prime (the eventual gold and silver medalists respectively). As our name was called to stage, we entered to an excited audience and began to sing. What followed was a performance that we will remember forever and a truly overwhelming ovation. This is that song.
It was an unforgettable experience, and an experience we hope to build on as we head towards the “big boys” contest in the coming years!
